Pine Needles Perform

I have a large white pine in my yard. Every year I would rake the excess needles and put them in the woods. Last year I spread them not only below typically acid-loving shrubs like azalea and rhododendron, but also about 3" thick in my vegetable garden. Wow. Almost no weeds at all. Much better than anything I had tried before, and free!
